According to the USGA, the Skins game has been a popular golf betting format for years, but it really got famous in the 1980s. That’s when the first major televised Skins game took place in 1983 at Desert Highlands in Scottsdale, Arizona. It featured golf legends Jack Nicklaus, Tom Watson, Arnold Palmer, and Gary Player.
It has since turned into a big part of golf culture, and even now, golfers of all skill levels love it for the level of excitement and competitiveness it adds to the game.
How Club 5150 Skins Are Won
In the Skins game, players compete to win every hole individually, and each hole is worth a certain amount, called a “skin”:
The player with the lowest score on a hole wins the skin(s) for that hole.
If players tie on a hole, the skins carry over, adding value to the next hole. One tie all tie.
When you finish the last hole, the players who have won skins are paid out. Each hole is worth 8 skins based on 12 golfers or 10 skins based on 16 golfers. For Club 5150 Golf purposes, each skin is valued at one dollar.
In the event of tie on the 18th hole, all players will compete in a chip off to break the tie. You get one shot and only one shot. Closest chip to the hole is the winner.
NO HANDICAP IS USED IN CLUB 5150 SKINS.
Club 5150 Warrior League Points Awarded for this Event
Although this is a Skins tournament, it is also an individual points tournament as well. Regardless of how many skins you win, your overall score will be determined by your score and handicap.
