Riverside Golf Course

The par-72 course at Riverside Golf Course in Fresno, California measures 6674 yards from the tips! (blue) tees. It was designed by William P. Bell and George Thomas, and opened for play in 1939. It is one of three golf courses owned by the City of Fresno.

In a picturesque setting along the San Joaquin River, this parkland-style course features expansive tree-lined fairways stretching over gently rolling terrain. The annual Fresno City Championships have been played here since 1939.

19th Hole Review

The 19th hole at Riverside features a very large outdoor patio that offers great course great course views (weather permitting). There is no service available outside however. The inside of the Trestle offers a sit down bar and plenty of tables and televisions. It is usually very busy and getting service can be a bit tricky. Not because of bad service, but simply because it is usually very busy.

Bar serves beer and other non-alcoholic beverages. Food is pretty good with a variety of menu options available. Food and service is pretty good overall. Clubhouse is usually pretty lively with golfers recapping their rounds and throwing back a few cold ones.

Driving Range

The driving range is located near hole number 1 and right behind the pro shop. The range is nothing special, allowing you to hit at various targets on grass. Only downside is you are hitting from mats. Although they are pretty good shape, they are still mats. There is a very tall net on the right running the distance of the range. This is for stopping balls from going into the street and the adjoining neighborhood of houses.

To obtain range balls you use a receipt code you punch into the ball machine. Balls are moderately priced at $11 for a small bucket (35 balls) and $16 for a large bucket (105 balls).
